We’d like to encourage all Sheffield juniors to enter the South Yorkshire Zonal for the EJCOA National Youth Championships, which will be held at the Rutland Hotel (Sheffield’s only independent 4* hotel) on Saturday April 1st.

There are 28 Zonals being held around the country, and details of how to enter are here:

Note: Unlike most competitions in the UK, this one is run using international age-group categories. For this competition only, your child will be Under 10 only if they were 9 or younger on January 1st this year.

Regional Final games will be ECF Rapidplay Rated. Players should be ECF members (silver or above).

Round 2: 12.00 pm

Round 3: 1.45pm
Round 4: 2:45pm

Round 5: 4:00pm

Time control: 15 minutes for all moves, plus 10 seconds per move.
